Cofounder
of Skills, this bay area DJ has remained a vital and
instrumental figure in the growth of the bay area trance
scene and dance scene for over five years. His smooth
transitions and flawless mixing have given him the respect
of his peers and fans, while his fun, melodic style
of trance have made him the favorite of the crowds.
Dyloot is known for his ability to take the crowd on
a journey, and keep them cheering the whole way through.
His style can best be described as melodic cyber-trance,
pumping basslines and build ups, with melodic breakdowns.
In
addition to DJing, Dyloot has taken his experience as
a DJ and brought it into the studio where he, along
with friend and partner Mystre of Frequency 8, are producing
their own cyber-trance music on their newly formed label,
Dancing Spirit. Dancing Spirit's first release, Coded
Message, has received much acclaim, and has been featured
as a # 1 pick on San Francisco's LIVE 105 dance music
show, Subsonic. The second Dancing Spirit release due
out in February, produced by Mystre and Dyloot, has
also received much airplay on the Subsonic Show, where
it has also been # 1 on their top 5 chart for several
weeks. Teaming up with Mystre and produced by Steve
Baltes (Go For It Records, Germany), Dyloot will also
be releasing, Dreamcatcher, due out in early 2002 on
Frequency 8 Records.
Dyloot's
talents as a DJ have been recognized by promoters, as
he has performed across the country as such infamous
events as Insomiac's Electric Daisy Carnival and Nocturnal
Wonderland, as well as Coolworld's Cyberfest, events
where he performed main stage alongside legendary performers
BT, Paul Oakenfold, and Carl Cox. Dyloot also regularly
appears on two of San Francisco's most popular radio
stations, Subsonic LIVE 105 and WILD 94.9's House Nation,
as well as SF's underground dance station, THUMP radio,
and has been interviewed and featured on rave documentaries
put on by HBO, BBC, and local public access shows. He
has also been featured in numerous magazine articles,
including Lotus, Flyer, Freebass, Zero, and SF's Guardian.
Whether he is on the decks, or in the studio, Dyloot's
love for trance music and performing remains strong,
and has made him a fixture in the West Coast trance
community.
